Creating an image bank for an athlete like Nicholas Pooran for Powerade, always works best when the creative team has a solid idea of the styles they are looking for. This is how we are able do a range of lighting setups to match the backgrounds they'll be dropped into. It makes the most of a busy athlete's short time in the studio, and if we have a larger rental studio, we can have multiple sets lit and ready to alternate between. The final images were used as portraits or action shots, dropped into a wide range of real or digitally created environments that timewise we wouldn't be able to access or shoot in one day. The other samples include Christopher George shot in studio, as well as some personal shots with local athletes, when I wanted to test some creative composite ideas in the studio. Working smart!
